He has such a good eye. I remember seeing one that was in a field with red flowers a few months ago…it was incredible. I like the one above with the airplane and the red.

Oh, yeah…the Azaleas & his son fishing. That was taken in the 60s.

He was incredibly talented in many areas.

Fine photos. That smoke was a tad too close for my liking.

He had 20 acres but, that didn’t keep him from getting nervous.

The forest fire looked like the end of the world.

      It certainly made him nervous.

Did he make slides out of them also? He had a great eye but that one he probably would have gladly done without.

I don’t know. He never mentioned slides to me.

I just wondered…back then many people had them converted into slides…The more you talk about him…he sounds like a true renaissance man.

Considering his background with a degree in Journalism, he most likely did have slides. That was a big thing in the 60s & 70s.

He called himself a “West Texas Cowboy” but, he was far more polished than that. He just didn’t have that big of an ego. He leaned more towards self-deprecation. And, with his heart trouble, he was probably surprised he was still alive. Didn’t take himself too seriously…

You were talking about him being an mentor… people like that are hard to find. I had a person in my life like that at one time and he passed.
I like learning about people…interesting people…but people as a whole…not so much. The people that really make a difference don’t usually think they do.

He was a rare gem even with his faults.

Truly interesting people are hard to find. These days, what goes for “interesting” is whomever has the biggest mouth or the flashiest clothes or the biggest house. A large portion of our society are no deeper than a child’s fish tank.

Honesty, humility, and integrity are hard to come by… and yes in todays world it is harder.
