For me, her best song was, “That’s the Way Love Goes.”

I was always partial to “Nasty”, myself. She and I are the same age.

30 years ago? Really? Wow. I am by no means a big fan of Janet Jackson’s but that album was pretty good I must say.

It got her a lot of awards. Control was a pretty good album, too. She made her mark as an artist with those two. Everything else was just icing. IMDB shows a LONG list of awards & nominations from Academy Awards all the way down…
She & I are the same age. I grew up watching her on Good Times.

I remember her on Good Times… The only song I can remember that I liked from her is Together Again…that is one that just clicked.

We are all the same age, pretty much. She is May ’66, I’m August, you’re close behind…
The Good Times episodes show what she looked like before her (and, apparently, the entire family’s) nose job.

Wasn’t she the most normal out of the bunch? That is not saying much but…

Normal? I’m not sure there was much normal in that family:

Mostly weird names and bizarre behavior.
Joe fathered 11 kids (that we know about) and I share a birthday with the recognized illegitimate one. LOL!

Yea I said normal as a relative term lol. They are/were out there.
Yep out of all of them she is the one you could relate to the most.

That was my third album I purchased with my own money as a young teen. It was released two weeks before my 13th b-day. It is sleeved & pristine, tho played. It sounded GOOD in my mom’s big stereo cabinet.
