These are companion shots to my POTD: Sunset post, as well as previous Sky Gazing posts. This town can have some of the most glorious sunsets and quirky cloud formations. ~Vic

Fabulous photos. I love the one-shot across town. It’s how I always picture America but I was brought up on Cheyenne, Bonanza and the High Chapparal lol.

We definitely have a plethora of landscapes here. This town is one of the oldest in NC. It is a blending of Native American, English Gentry & Scottish, though most of the Scots headed for the Appalachians.

The closer to the coast, the older the towns, for obvious reasons. I guess this town got an early start, inland, because of the major trading path junction.

I’ve seen those shows as re-runs. My dad grew up watching them. I’ve been to Cheyenne, been to Nevada & Arizona. I’ve lived in Texas. There are, indeed, some cowboys left…very few, tho… Modern life changed the culture.

      Glad you like the pictures.

I am always mesmerized by sky shapes and colors. I could spend hours just sky-gazing.

I got very lucky. I was walking around at the right time. The top of the parking garage has a great view of the town.
