My Town Tuesday posts…I just discovered that, the house, that these flowers were in front of, is even older than the previous two…1754. It was an Ordinary at one time.
I was just reading about NC’s moving capital. Our oldest town is Bath and it was the “nominal” capital in the early 1700s. Then, it went to Edenton, then to New Bern, then to Hillsborough, then to Fayetteville and then, finally, to Raleigh. The Provincial Congress moved all over the place.
Our three Roanoke colonies (all disappeared, not just one) of the 1580s all pre-date the Jamestown landing.
