Five years ago, today, the #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100, R&B/Hip-Hop and Canadian Hot 100 charts was The Hills by Canadian singer The Weeknd (Abel Makkonen Tesfaye). Released May 27, it was the 5th track from the album Beauty Behind the Madness and the second single released.

“When a song takes its hook from a horror film, Wes Craven’s 1977 cult classic The Hills Have Eyes, you know there’s bound to be trouble.

Yeahhhhhh…I’m not liking it at all. And, funny how something like this made it to Diamond Certification. It’s “entertainment” but, I’m not sure I would classify this as actual “music.” It’s closer to noise… But, I don’t always post what I like. Song Saturdays are my playlist stuff. Everything else is just historical (hysterical?) stuff.

I’m having to back up on my headers. I’ve over extended myself and got exhausted. Just the past week and a half of posting, everyday, was killing me. I’m just too busy. I do all the shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry…plus blog, plus communicate with my group, try to exercise…sleep…try to watch some entertainment (time consuming)…

How many blogs do you follow?

Mine are easier…because I have certain spots where I get info when I don’t already know them…most I know about to begin with…not all but many.
How many I follow? I have MANY listed…but many are gone now or have stopped posting…I’m going to trim them down… it says 158 I follow…but I just marked Retroroxie off lol.

No mine IS 141… I’m an idiot today.
Yesterday I lost my iPhone at work had to get the app to find it when I left work had to get gas and I noticed the front tire was almost flat I rub my hand across it and almost cut my hair because of the metal sticking out. I’ve been went to Walmart and got a tire but it was too late to put it on…
Woke up this morning to a flat tire took it off put on the spare which was of course flat… had to wait for Bailey to get back from college to get it fixed now I have to go home and put it on…

The past 24 hours have sucked.. i’m doing this voice to text so if there are a mess ups you know

I wonder why bloggers don’t say anything before they close shop. At least post a reminder or something!

That is a good question. The Roxie I mentioned, http://www.retroroxie.com, I met her on Max’s blog. She was cool. Then, one day, her site just disappeared. She had given no indication that something was wrong or that she was just tired of blogging (that happens a lot). I can’t find a copy of her site on any of the web archive sites.

I followed a Lady Emily Rose, a transgender woman that was an excellent Sci-Fi reviewer. She did a few posts on her struggles and mentioned that no one that knew her, knew she had a blog. I don’t think her family was very supportive. One day, she was gone. http://www.knightofangels.com She was awesome, too. When you plug her site into Archive.org, you get “This URL has been excluded.” I can only assume she requested that any echo of her former blog be wiped from their records. I’ve never seen that error message, before.

I’ve followed Britchy (Helen) here: https://bitchininthekitchen.org/
She stopped blogging in May after a move from NY to NC (my state). I’ve tried emailing her and commenting (I had her NY phone number but, it was disconnected…I never got the new one). Another blogger told me that she had drawn the ire of a troll but, that doesn’t explain not answering an email. We’d corresponded, before so, she would know it was me.

Yeah, it’s odd. A few have done that to me as well. I’m definitely planning to release a post explaining my absence, and I will keep my website up for others to look back on. Just in case I become more popular and have archives of my writings. Don’t worry, that shouldn’t be for a couple more years! Stay stellar.

                      https://archive.org/web/

                      Then, there is this one:
                      https://archive.is/

This is one of the older ones and they aren’t archiving right now:
                      https://www.webcitation.org/
As best as I can tell, they’ve stopped archiving because they have no funding.

I routinely save my pages to the Wayback Machine and the other Archive. Even if you decide to stop blogging, there will always be an echo of your work…unless those folks over at Archive.org decide to muck up history (as has been suggested) for political reasons. But, that being said, blogs like ours wouldn’t be subject to that.

                      Something to think about.

                  Yeah. It’s addictive. I agree.

I remember the days when blogging was not so “social.” These days, I’m not seeing much difference between this and FakeBook. There is s newsfeed, following blogs is like “friending”, there are “likes” & comments…and people hissing at each other. I tease Ray about his FB addiction…and, then I look at what I am doing…similar stuff on a similar platform (both programmed in PHP).

                  Are you on FB?

Am I on FB? Yes and no…I check it every 3 days or so and that is it. The reason I joined was to watch a bloggers live stream talk about music…that is it.
So yea I’m on it but barely look at it.

I opened an account in 2008 because of an impending reunion. Then, I was on it to talk to Ken. Then, I was on it to keep in touch with my Texan friends. Then, I was on it to talk to far away family. Then, people started hissing at each other and I just withdrew, leaving my account active so I could use Messenger. Speaking of, if you need a quick text, I think you have my phone number…or I can find you on FakeBook. Just a thought…

And, you ain’t missing a damn thing. Well…maybe you are since FB deletes and/or hides stuff. Don’t you want your “facts” “checked?” 😆

Yea that is true…lord help if I had lived with a sister around my age…I would have bugged the sh*t out of you…picking and picking. With
Tammy…she was 8 years older…I didn’t dare pick on her…she could pin me down on the floor…until I was around 11…than that sh*t was reversed.

See! I know that! “I’m not touching youuuuuuu…” with a finger in my face. Throwing popcorn at each other in the backseat of the car… Being thrown into the pool upside down…

I wish I had David’s expertise in Astrology. I can read individual points but, I haven’t the experience to interpret things in a meaningful way.

Yep! I missed out on that! My mom did make Tammy take me on dates…hence being shoved in a trunk for drive in theaters…at least until we got out. I knew we were in by the sound of gravel.
Yea I could not make heads or tails from those charts.
