NOTD: Taylor Swift Amnesia

Many Swifties are experiencing a post-concert “blank space.” Fans of international pop star Taylor Swift have reported a lack of memory after attending Eras Tour concerts, with some saying they’re even forgetting chunks of her performance. Experts at Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey researched why concertgoers are experiencing blackouts after their big night out. Dr. Nathan Carroll, associate chief resident psychiatrist at Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center, linked the memory loss after concerts to a neurological condition called transient global amnesia (TGA).
“TGA is a rare phenomenon impacting memory,” the researcher told Fox News Digital. “Individuals who experience TGA will attend an event, like a concert, wedding or festival and, later, report undeniable gaps in their memory,” he said. “This type of memory loss is different from normal forgetfulness,” Carroll said. “For example, during the event, it may look like you’re acting normally and answering questions but, later, you may not recall some of your conversations,” he said. “Unlike other amnesias, memory loss is very limited, only lasting about a day and, people don’t forget [autobiographical] information.” TGA can develop due to elevated blood pressure, strenuous physical activity and emotional excitement, which Carroll said are all “theorized to temporarily impair the functioning of the memory center of our brain, the hippocampus.” “What’s interesting is that the concertgoers are only recognizing the memory loss post-event,” he said. “They actually experience TGA during the event but don’t realize it at the time.”

So, concertgoers are experiencing undeniable gaps in their memories. Poor Taylor. All that work to entertain and no one remembers seeing her perform. It brings a tear to me eye. ~Vic

I suppose the brain can be a funny animal. One minute it can make you all excited, the other minute it can make you swiftly forget what excited you!

Swift brings on crazy brain chemistry? IDK. This is for sure a head scratcher, even with the “explanation.”

The concert was so good that they blanked out…? I guess that’s good publicity…??

” forgetting chunks of her performance.” and that’s a bad thing?
She has a bit of blank space between her ears.

LOL! Yeah. I don’t get the attraction with her followers. I remember when she came on the scene as a country singer. I was still living in Texas. She was an “OK” country singer but, nothing outstanding. Then, she moved into “pop”, much like Leann Rimes, Faith Hill & Shania. She gets by on her looks, more-so than her talent. The fact that she leaves her adoring fans with blank minds is hilarious to me. At least she isn’t as weird as Lady Gaga.

If she was hot…I would say ok for some….but she is not to me anyway.
Yes leaving them with what she has….a blank mind.

But not the end all…plus her songs to me sound like a 15 year wrote them. I just dont’ see it. I mean at least GaGa has a good voice…I don’t like her music but she does have a strong one. The strongest one I think is Pink.

Oh, no. I was just remarking that she is pretty. She would do well in modeling. And, yes…the lyrics are “child-like.” Maybe that is why her followers are “going blank.” LOL!
Gaga does have a good voice but, the weirdness throws me off. I own ONE of her songs.
Pink doesn’t really sing much, anymore but, she had some good stuff. Christina Aguilera had a hell of a voice, too. She disappeared. Thank god Miley & Britney shut up.

Now Britney was cute…she really was…and still is in a crazy lady kinda of way. Most of them except Britney and Miley have good voices.
Mariah Carey has a great voice as well…but it’s what you do with it.

Britney was cute, when she came on the scene. She & Miley are trainwrecks, now.
Carey & Houston wore me out with the constant melisma. Celine Dion, too. Just…STOP IT. Melisma is the main reason I don’t like operas. Running chords with vocal manipulation annoys the hell out of me.

Britney and Miley didn’t have good voices either.
Oh I’m wore out by all of them but they did have great voices! That is why I didn’t like Whitney Houston…vocal gymnastics that pretty much said “look at me”…it wasn’t for the song.

Good points! Britney always sounded like she was on helium and Miley sounded like a chain-smoker.
I COMPLETELY agree…vocal gymnastics for the “attention.”

It goes back to Ringo…lol…you know how my mind works. He drums for the song period…he isn’t flash like many were….that is why if you were in a rock band…he would be the one you would want.
Not sing a difficult part or drum a difficult part just to do it…but do what makes the song sound better…not yourself.

Ringo is a natural. His drumming is one of the reasons why I liked early Beatles.

I read that girls that worship at her stage alter will never age past 13 years-old. Gotta be something hidden in her songs that jacks up their pituitary gland. Plus she only knows three chords on her guitar.
