Elvis & Aretha
Gone on the same day, 41 years apart. I was two weeks shy of my 11th birthday when Elvis died. I am two weeks shy of my 52 birthday. Two incredibly beautiful, powerful voices and souls are gone.

Never been a huge Aretha fan to be honest – SORRY. But she sings amazingly.
I love Elvis. Suspicious minds is probably my favorite! 😀

Heh. No sorries. While she had a beautiful, powerful voice and was a great symbol for strong women everywhere, I don’t have any of her music. I have sung along to ‘Respect’ & ‘You Make Me Feel…’ and those pieces have always been in the background tapestry of my life but, I’ve never actually followed her or gone to a concert. I guess she is more a ‘cultural icon’ to me than anything else.
I did post a song that she & Elvis both sang. His version, I like better. And, I am with you…I love Elvis. I grew up listening to my Dad’s Elvis albums & 45s. Unfortunately, I wasn’t alive to see 1950s Elvis. I was too young to understand Vegas Elvis. Then, he was gone… 💔
