I am familiar. I have helped lay engineered wood floors and floating floors. Our home in Texas only had carpeting in the master bedroom.

My paternal grandparents had shag carpet. It was put in, in 1972. It stayed in the house until she passed in 2000. By then, it was NASTY. 😖🤮
