POTD: Oxalis
I’m pretty sure this is an Oxalis Articulata or pink sorrel but, it could also be Oxalis Debilis. Either way, it is definitely a Shamrock and it’s in my front yard. ~Vic

POTD: Lunaria
Also known as Honesty, this could be the annual form or a perennial. Lunaria is Latin for moon-like and refers to the plants seed pods. ~Vic

POTD: Ilex
Happy New Year! 2020? Good riddance.
Now that I got that out of my system, I am officially retiring my Flower for the Day posts. I will continue to post flowers and/or pretty leaves and/or trees and/or other plants. I will just be posting them under the Picture of the Day heading.
Everyone will recognize this as Holly but, which one of the 600 species it could be? Even Pl@ntNet isn’t helping. My wild-ass guess is Ilex Cornuta or Burfordii Compacta or Burfordii Nana or Dwarf Burford. After all that, it’s still a Holly. It’s lovely for Merry Christmases and New Years. ~Vic

FFTD: Parthenocissus
This is a Parthenocissus Inserta or False Virginia Creeper, thicket creeper, grape woodbine or just woodbine. It doesn’t have the hairy stems like a true Virginia Creeper and its leaf edges are smoother. They like to peak out from the fence. ~Vic

Christmas Countdown 15.0
This is my last countdown post. I’ve saved my favorite gingerbread house for last. I’ve been inside this place and you can feel its history. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pictures when I was there. Before the world went insane, Ayr Mount would host Scottish Festivals. ~Vic

Christmas Countdown 13.0
I did a write-up on the Colonial Inn back in May. This historic building has come a long way. It is, now, finally open for business after being vacant and crumbling for nearly 20 years. I wish them luck. ~Vic

Christmas Countdown 12.0
Welcome to the Winter Solstice. ~Vic
From Why Christmas:
The evergreen Fir Tree has traditionally been used to celebrate winter festivals (Pagan and Christian) for thousands of years. Pagans used branches of it to decorate their homes during the winter solstice, as it made them think of the spring to come. The Romans used Fir Trees to decorate their temples at the festival of Saturnalia. Christians use it as a sign of everlasting life with God.
