FFTD: Ruellia

Posted on Updated on

A member of the Acanthaceae family, this could be a Ruellia Simplex or Mexican Petunia, Mexican Bluebell or Britton’s Wild Petunia. It could be a Ruellia Tuberosa or Minnieroot, Fever Root, Snapdragon Root or Sheep Potato. Honestly, they look the same to me. ~Vic

It was a lovely, rich lavender. My phone makes it pinkish. 😳

I SO agree. Actually, I would have loved having you as a mom.

You and my oldest are lots alike. So here is a thought…I can be your Mom-like bestest friend!

You are so much like my oldest daughter…lots of the same gifts and talents. How about this—I will be your Mom-like bestest friend. I try NOT to be a Mom to my adult kids. They don’t need a Mom. I try to be a very good friend, one they enjoy having around them. So if that would work for you! Then I’m game!

See. That is precisely what I was getting at. You are a good mom and good friend, rolled into one. You are a rare gem. I wish I was close by.

That looks really delicate…like if you touch it…it would come apart.

Yeah. It doesn’t look as hardy as a sunflower or a hibiscus.
