POTD: Oxalis

Posted on Updated on

I’m pretty sure this is an Oxalis Articulata or pink sorrel but, it could also be Oxalis Debilis. Either way, it is definitely a Shamrock and it’s in my front yard. ~Vic

Looks like a flowering clover to me! I saw a patch of clover on one of my neighbors yards the other day. Definitely a sign spring will be here.

Beautiful flowers! I have Oxalis/Wood Sorrel growing wild in my yard. They have beautiful yellow blooms in March.

There are a lot of Irish descendants here. Brought them with?

They may look nice but they get everywhere. I cant get rid of them in my garden.

They are quite prolific. I remember reading, some years ago, about a woman that had the purple leaf version of it. She mowed them down all the time and that just made them spread more. LOL!

My maternal grandmother kept some in a pot…the ones with the triangular leaves that close up when the sun sets. She always called them umbrella plants.
