Just turn a light on above it and it will rise!
And, fly around the light bulb?
I did feel sorry for it though
My moth or yours?
Soon you will be able to photograph MORE! Spring has Sprung!
Yes, Ma’am! I just saw (and startled) a Blue Heron, near the river, two days ago. I haven’t seen any Blue Heron, here in a couple of years.
YAY! Maybe they are coming back!!!!
I certainly hope so.
A Painted Lady Butterfly! It fluttering so quickly, I wonder if it’s trying to warm up. 🙂
It might just be. I recorded this in the Butterfly Garden of our Gold Park. I love to wander through it and take pictures.
Again, sorry for the delay. This was also in my SPAM folder. WTH???
I’ve got some problems it seems for the last two months with WP. Some bloggers can’t comment or like now. Spent hours trying to get it straight with WP through chat and emails. That’s been a joke. So discouraged with WP right now. I’m thinking of quitting….
They keep messing with code, adding more features (which can create an unstable leviathan) and are less than helpful to customers. I’ve also noticed a strange pattern in searches. There are certain blogs that I am aware of and/or used to follow (stopped for various reasons). When I search for them, knowing what the names are, exactly…they won’t come up in a search. That has been going on for about a year, now. The blogs still exist but, searching for them in the Reader yields nothing. I can find them in a browser, just by typing the name. Inside the WP Reader…no. I’ve also read other bloggers complaining of being “shadow banned” or stats dropping.
There was a rash of blogs that WP deleted…back in late 2018 or early 2019…something like that…for having any mention of “the shooting in Connecticut.” You can’t mention the actual school name without possible repercussions, particularly with the ongoing lawsuit.
There is censorship. It’s just not always apparent. Mullenweg appears to be an open minded guy but, money, fame and too many years in CA can twist your brain.
Where would you go if you left WP?
I’ve heard others having issues with the WP reader too. I don’t use the reader, I like my big ole laptop screen to see!
I’ve got so many other things I want to get involved in, now that we’ve planted roots again, that I’m not sure if I’ll continue sharing photos. Maybe Facebook to share Eastern Neck NWR with the locals? I’ve got several months before my WP subscription expires, I’ll see how things continue until then.
I’m usually on my laptop, too but, when you sign into WP via a browser, on a laptop or PC, there is a button in the top left that says “Reader.” The Reader isn’t just on a cellphone. It is part of the whole software package when you sign in, regardless of which device you use. There is also a stand-alone, desktop version you can download directly to your laptop or PC, bypassing using a browser. I guess it still exists.
If you don’t use the Reader, how do you keep up with all the blogs you follow?
So, you’ve parked the RV for a while?
I have a placeholder on FB so Messenger will work but, it has been three years since I have been on there.
You just went over my head on the all that! 🤪 I fly by the skin of my pants on WP.
I do appreciate you explaining, Vic! I have always disliked Reader, probably because of some of what you said was messing with me. I get an email for every new blog post I’m subscribed to. I move those emails to a folder Blogs to Read and click on them to go to the post when I’m checking others’ blogs. Probably a backass way of doing it, lol. I’m not a techie, I lean on my son for all my computer woes, lol.
We sold the motorhome! Yepper. Wasn’t sure we were going to really have time to travel for the next two years. We’re presently designing our house with an architect, hubby is also preparing the property, he’ll be the General Contractor for the overall build. He worried about the motorhome not staying maintained, they really need to be used constantly to keep things operating nicely. Sooooo we put it up for sale, and BAM instantly had buyers all over the country. Just sold it to a family in Iowa. Haven’t missed it so far. The last two years really put a different spin on enjoying cross-country traveling for us. We always wanted to travel the West Coast from top to bottom for several months. No desire to see the West Coast now, doesn’t even sound safe anymore. We’ll just stay rooted and LOVE our Chesapeake Bay and east coast vibes. 🙂
Eek. Sorry. LOL!. I am a former web programmer, so, sometimes I babble.
I forgot about the emails. Wow. If you follow a lot of blogs, you will have a lot of emails. As many emails as I get, I’d never be able to keep up with blogs to read. The Reader has a news feed that shows me all the new posts from everyone. I follow 48 sites, so…I just scroll thru the Reader news feed.
Wow. You sold it. I loved seeing the “birding mobile” and your travel photos. I understand, though. Your life took a different turn. Do you miss the place on the Pax River?
I bet that RV sold fast. I am not surprised. People moving around in RVs has risen significantly. So have the prices. Folks are trying to escape tyranny, riots and high taxes. I wouldn’t want to visit the West Coast, now. The more I read, the scarier it gets. I was in the Death Valley area in late 2000, sightseeing from Las Vegas (my ex-Marine & I got out and drove around). Here in NC, we are taking in an influx of folks escaping NY. I suspect FL is taking an influx, too. They are getting ready to hand Disney its ass.
I enjoyed living in Virginia Beach 2001-2002. I worked in Norfolk (Norfolk Sheriff’s Office) and loved driving to work, seeing all the boats in dry dock. I enjoyed going over the Chesapeake Bay bridge. It is a grand area. It was a fun time when the ex-Marine was assigned to Camp Elmore on the Norfolk Naval Base. I’ve been on board the USS Enterprise and a Canadian Frigate. Hard to believe that was 20 years ago.
I understand your East Coast vibe love. I have it, too.
