POTD: Cardinal

Posted on

I saw the Cardinal thru the Den window. It was perched on one of the torches. Just as I took the shot, he took off. I was pleasantly surprised to capture him diving relatively clearly. ~Vic

He was a beauty. We have several mated pairs of Cardinals that raise young close to the house. I’ve seen the parents running thru the yard after a baby learning to use its wings.

Back in the day, my neighbor used to feed one. It would come and knock on their window and then sit on the table on the balcony, awaiting food.

Wow. That’s unusual for a wild bird. It must have learned at a young age that your neighbor was trustworthy.
