You rarely see white/lemon rhododendrons. That’s lovely

There are white ones all over town but, some could roll down to azalea. This shot came from an enormous bush in someone’s yard…actually a long hedge of them, nearly sticking out into the street.

Ken planted red and white azaleas at the edge of the driveway (years ago), facing the street. He staggered them expecting “red, white, red, white.” No such luck. The azaleas had other ideas. The red ones bloom in late March, early April. The white ones don’t bother until late April, early May. Pissed him off. LOL!

They don’t grow in Central Texas, either, without lots of babying. Silly me, I planted four of them in my yard. They were dead in a month. That place is way too alkaline with all the limestone. They love acid. The University of Texas has them on their campus…in raised beds, away from the limestone with lots of paid landscapers feeding them acid, constantly.
