Song Sunday: Early Warning

“Too young to know, too old to listen…”
Sunday evening’s playlist submission is Early Warning by Australian band Baby Animals. The second track from their debut album Baby Animals, it was released on April 21, 1991, as their debut single. Written by Suze DeMarchi, Dave Leslie and Eddie Parise, the song was nominated for Single of the Year and Song of the Year in 1992 by the Australian Recording Industry Association. The album was awarded Album of the Year at The Arias Awards.
I discovered this band when their third track Painless was released in the US in November 1991. Suze’s voice is stunning and powerful and, her band is as hard rocking as any from Downunder. I bought the CD and there’s not a bad song on it. It deserved Album of the Year. They broke up in 1996 but, reformed in 2007. They continue to perform and record.

Reminds me of Blondie.

Really? I hadn’t thought of that.

Strong strong voice…and music is edgy. I like it because it has a raw feel to it.

That album was the only one I owned. I haven’t heard any of their later stuff. They were so Australian. They toured some here with Van Halen (apparently Valerie heard them and liked them) but, I never heard much more out of them.
I loved her voice.

Her voice was the best part. The music is really good and thank goodness they didn’t smooth it out…but it’s her voice…strong…very strong.

A little trivia for you…she was with Gavin Rossdale before blonde bitch. “Comedown” was about Suze:

Oh you mean Gwen? I thought at first Madonna

LOL! I don’t recall Rossdale being involved with THAT material girl. At least Madonna had a decent voice. Holla-back bitch has NO talent.

Madonna’s voice…squeaky…and NOW creaky. I don’t like either one really.

She got some voice training esp. when she was working on “Evita” in the middle 90s. Her voice got better. It’s a shame her personality is shit.
Ever heard Frozen? I do like that one.

I just heard it…she did do a…gulp…good job. You know I usually can separate art from artist…you have to at times…but my dislike for her exceeds usual limits.
I do like one song…one song…Borderline. I told my cousin when we saw it…that lady will be huge…unfortunately I was right.

I liked Borderline, too, back in the day. It got played too much.
