Yes, I have been gone for a while. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with my blog. Sometimes, I love posting and other times, I get aggravated with it. WordPress function does not help the issue.

I have had some health issues but, they are largely subsiding. A change in diet has helped, greatly. I have been blogging since 2009 and abandoned my blog for four years, re-starting in June of 2018. I did a lot of blogging when I was living in Texas and my blog had a different name.

I didn’t celebrate Cinco, today but, noticed that many did. I hope everyone had a good time. At the moment, I am sipping on some wine and watching some really weird movies on Cinemax. I hope everyone has a lovely Cinco Evening/Friday Night. ~Vic

Cinco De Mayo is not part of the U.S. history, so I do not celebrate it. HOWEVER…..I do not fault the Mexican population from doing so, because when I was a soldier stationed overseas, we still celebrated July 4th Independence day, Veterans Day, and Memorial day even though they were not host country Holidays.

Good points. I have some friends in the UK. When the 4th holiday rolls around, here, I get called a pain in the ass yank or a wanker…all in good fun. I always thought wanker was for males but, their language turned it into a general insult. Eh…two countries, separated by a common language. I will never call a cigarette a fag. Culturally, it won’t work, here.

Hope you’re feeling better! While I didn’t celebrate Cinco de Mayo, I still had plenty of fun last night seeing a Dylan tribute show at a great venue in Asbury Park, N.J. I may have lost some additional hearing cells in the process! 🙂

I am doing much better, Christian. Thank you. Some of my issues are emotional, as well. I am still processing the death of my father.

Whoa. Asbury Park, NJ. There is a wealth of musical history, there.

It’s been many years since I have attended a concert…over a decade. I did most of my band-chasing in Texas in the middle to late 2000s. I miss those days.

I, too, have some permanent hearing loss from being too close to big speakers. I’d always fall asleep with a roar in my head.

Glad you had a good time, dear! Rock on!

I’m very sorry to hear about your dad. I’m fortunate my parents (dad: 87, mom: 85) are still alive, though my mom is dealing with some health issues.

The thought of losing them is already freaking me out, though obviously I know it’s inevitable. Plus, they’ve lived good lives. That said, you’ve known your parents all life and expect them to be there always!

Asbury Park is a fun place. I had not been there since prior to the pandemic!

I was mainly joking about the hearing loss. That said, I definitely have some going back to my active musician years in my late teens and early twenties.

Thanks. He passed Aug. 25. He made it to 77 and went in his sleep in a rocking chair. We don’t know what killed him. My uncle didn’t bother with an autopsy as there was no foul play. He was alone in his apartment. Both my dad & his brother were in law enforcement, so it was a simple investigation. He had Type II Diabetes & diabetic neuropathy. That was it. No cancer, no heart trouble, no brain trouble… He just left.

My mother is still alive but, we don’t have a relationship. She has some form of mild schizophrenia or disassociative disorder. She was very odd when I was growing up (I was mostly raised by my grandmothers) but, she went full blown weird in her early 30s (my parents divorced when I was 12). She has given three of her brothers a fit with her bizarre behaviors. She got herself fired from a good, long term job with excellent benefits and got herself arrested for stalking the wife of an ex-boyfriend. We haven’t spoken since the late 80s. I keep up with her via an uncle.

I don’t know if you wanted to read all that but…there it is. LOL!

I hope your parents keep on, keepin’ on! A good set of parents is a treasure. I lost out on that lottery.

I had to take a break also…I didn’t know you were taking a break also. I’m good now….I’m 56 posts ahead so I’m going to try to keep it above 40 if possible…that will never happen though.

56 posts ahead. Dude! You are the poster child for “over achiever.” Were you a teacher’s pet?

My break wasn’t planned, totally. I just got aggravated and said “fuck it.”

NO I wasn’t lol…and I sat in back! I used to do posts the night before…that got old when one morning I went to sleep and woke up at 2am and had to do a Led Zeppelin post lol…I thought never again. The last time I took a break I got 70 ahead.

LOL…you do that a lot young lady!

I might get two posts ahead but, 56 or 70. Nope.

I have a love/hate relationship with WP. It is clunky as hell and way too expensive. I wish I got paid to do this.

I love it I have to admit. Why not get way ahead? Now if something comes up for a few days I’m cool. I only do posts on things I love…that is it….or I wouldn’t do it.

I stretched myself out too thin with topics that were starting to bore me. “Why am I doing this, again?” At least I’m not staying away for four years…

Yea that is a good thing!
                I only stick to stuff I love…or HATE…so I can vent lol

Completely forgot about Cinco until I saw your post. Good to hear there is some improvement on the health front. Don’t burn yourself out, blogging should never become work.

Thank you, dear. Health issues aside, WP is a giant pain in the ass to navigate and expensive.
