It is a nice park but, it has a terrible history. There was an A.A. community there, once (late 1800s, early 1900s). They were forced to move elsewhere. There is a marker just east of the seat. Due north is the county courthouse & Sheriff’s Office.
I always joke to Linda she should do a book all around benches – especially the ones on our birding trails. As she has tried them all (ha) she can rate their placement, comfort, viewing angle, structure.. the whole nine yards. This usually illicits very unkind words and scorned expressions.

What a beautiful place. I would love walking there and resting there.

Many concerts and carnivals are held there.

A.A.? I am sure it wasn’t Alcoholics Anonymous.
Pleasant seat. I could rest there quite awhile …

You would be correct. Trying to be respectful and not draw an attack.
The Riverwalk has a lot of seats like that. This area is a part of the “Mountains to the Sea” Trail.
