      This area certainly provides some interesting cloud formations and great sunsets. The town sits inside of a ridge, of some sort. Ken said it’s called “Thunder Ridge.” That ridge can, sometimes, make a storm split in half. I’ve watched it happen, in real time, via radar. Plus, the town “area” is the starting point, map-wise, where the flat, eastern part of NC starts to elevate into the Piedmont. I think, because of all of the above, the Native Americans chose this place as a trading spot.
