Update:
Upon further investigation, this is, in fact, a red Camellia.

I have no idea what this is. If anyone does, speak up. ~Vic

Update: Thanks to Max at Powerpop Blog, I got my answer. This is an Iberis Sempervirens or an Evergreen Candytuft. Thanks, Max!

These things are pretty to look at but, you don’t want to step on one of them, barefooted. I’m always reminded of the Return of the Jedi sand monster Sarlacc. ~Vic

FFTD: Narcissus

I haven’t gotten a shot of our now-blooming Narcissus. They started coming up last month. They seem to enjoy the cold weather. I’ve seen them bloom with ice on the ground. ~Vic

FFTD: Late Bloomer

Posted on Updated on

I have no idea what this is nor can I tell if it is a flowering shrub or a small tree. It doesn’t mind cool weather but, sadly, the hard freeze the next day destroyed all the blooms.

Update:
Another blogger identified it as a Camellia. Thank you!

FFTD: Lots of Daisies

Posted on Updated on

I had intended to do a Shutterbug Saturday post but, I’ve spent the entire day battling my laptop. I curse Microsoft.

Instead, here are some late season, happy daisies. ~Vic

Azaleas are usually Springtime visitors. Some of them, well, they are the late bloomers. This is a small bush on the First Baptist church property. ~Vic
