POTD: Winter Creeper

Posted on

In the family of Celastraceae and the species of Euonymus Fortunei, I believe this may be a Coloratus. Also called the Spindle or Fortune’s Spindle, it is named for Scottish botantist Robert Fortune. It is native to East Asia and has become invasive here in the US. It can kill a tree, despite being very pretty. ~Vic

POTD: Wolf Moon 2022

I just realized that I have never done Wolf Moon post. There is something about January where I keep missing the full moon. Full illumination occurred at 6:48p EST on January 17. Better late than never, I guess. Howl for me! ~Vic

POTD: Beaver Moon 2021

Posted on Updated on

I got some really cool shots of the moon about eight hours before it was completely full (3:58am EST, November 19). Then, I got some shots of the partial Lunar Eclipse. That was so awesome considering that it was the longest partial eclipse since 1440. My stupidphone couldn’t do it justice (I need a real camera).

Previous Beaver Moon posts here & here. Spooky, spooky… ~Vic

POTD: Dragons

Many months ago, I was gifted with an adorable dragon figurine from Momma Linda. I was moved to tears. She knows I love dragons. A few days ago, I was gifted with an additional dragon, as a pendant with a crescent moon. More tears. Thank you, again, Momma. Many hugs to you. ~Vic
