Sixty years ago, today, the 17th annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony was held and aired on KTTV in Los Angeles (an independent station in 1960). The Globes are given by members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the first gathering in 1944. Recognition is for excellence in film (American and International) and television (American). The 1960 ceremony was honoring work done in 1959.

Last year, the Full Worm Moon coincided with the Vernal Equinox. This year, the Worm Moon will be at full illumination at 1:47pm, today. I got some shots of it, earlier (actually, wee hours of the morning).
I did a complete write-up on the Worm Moon on my 2019 post with all of the interesting and varied Native American names. This year, our Worm Moon is a Supermoon, though that isn’t really a true and official ‘astronomical’ term. It’s more of an astrological description and, apparently, was coined by astrologer Richard Nolle. The technical term is perigeesyzygy, with perigee referring to the closeness of the Moon to the Earth and syzygy referring to a straight-line astronomical configuration of three celestial bodies. Depending upon that configuration, there might be a solar eclipse or a lunar eclipse. Supermoons also bring higher tides. This Moon is the last full moon of Winter. Howl for me! ~Vic

As we progress through our change of understanding…our increase in levels of consciousness…there is a growing recognition of the levels at which our Earth functions in relation to human existence. That is why many people are now beginning to re-awaken to the reality of the Faerie, which are a construct, a projection, of the Earth’s own consciousness. According to my researches in the Akashic, there are fifty-nine ‘varieties’ of Faerie, which have been created by the Earth herself to look after all of the Earth’s plants, trees and other forms of life. Each form of Faerie has its own role to play and carries out its duties with immense joy and love.
As the Faerie are part of the Earth’s own consciousness, they cannot travel outside the Earth’s atmosphere. The same applies to other planets that have developed their own form of the Faerie. It is not possible for them to leave their home worlds and travel to Earth. Beings such as Griffins and Unicorns are also part of the Faerie realms and therefore are also brought into being by the Earth. Griffins act as messengers between branches of the Faerie realms, or between the Faerie and humans. If you’ve ever seen a real Unicorn you’ll know they are not fluffy little ponies with a bump on their foreheads! They are magnificent beings the size of a thoroughbred Arab horse, with a temperament to match and, their horns are at least one metre long. Unicorns can also act as messengers. Dragons are a representation of the soul energy of the Earth herself, although this energy can take flight and become the dragons of legend.
Another representation of the Earth’s own energies is the Green Man. He represents an aspect of male energies to complement the female, mother, Earth. Unfortunately, both the dragon and Green Man images have become ‘demonised’ by popular belief, the Green Man having been turned into ‘the devil’ and the dragon into the serpent of the Garden of Eden. Sadly, these ideas have distorted our views of, and beliefs about, the Earth. As we continue our climb back to full consciousness, many are beginning to realise that our only chance of completing our work is to turn back to Mother Earth and her nurture. Technology will never find lasting answers to the problems its use has created. All the answers we will ever need are to be found in the abundance the Earth has provided and within our own locked-away knowledge of how to use that abundance wisely.
This locked-away knowledge is often more evident to children than it is to adults. To talk of the Faerie, for instance, in adult terms, is at best considered taboo. But if you are a child, the subject is one of awe and recognition. As children we see the world through innocent eyes, eyes that have not been sullied by cynicism and paying bills. In other words, children see the world in which we live with a clarity of being that we adults, in an attempt to ‘grow up’, leave behind. How can you sell double glazing when you believe that you have Faeries ‘at the bottom of your garden’? As adults, we exist in a world where realities become hidden and our beliefs, no matter how false, become realities.
The more we have moved down our route to materialism and extreme consumerism, the further away we have moved from the real reasons for human existence and, the further we have removed ourselves from the natural rhythms of the planet that supports us. The Earth is all we have and once we have depleted her resources, there will be no more and, we will cease to exist on Earth. The Earth exists to allow the possibilities of being human to be explored. In order to achieve that goal, our Mother Earth has created beings who can assist us in our aims. These include the Faerie. At the risk of being taken away by ‘men in white coats’, I think it is time for all those who know the Faerie realms exist to come to the fore.

We have scientists who ‘know’ how the Universe came into being. We have archaeologists who ‘know’ how life began and developed into human beings. We have doctors who ‘know’ how the body works. As we ‘wake up’, we ‘know’ that these versions of reality are not exactly correct. We begin to open our minds to different realities and, the physical world of the scientists becomes less and less compatible with our inner knowledge. I am not proposing a Faerie ‘revolution’, as the Faerie do not see our world in those terms. However, try to see the world in a new light. Try to regain your childhood innocence. We are not a part of the Faerie. The Faerie exist in their own right and it is not our place to interfere, only to interact, if we have the will and the innocence to do so.
So how do we recapture that innocence? It is not easy. Many have tried and most have given up in frustration. There is no easy answer. The mechanistic world that humans have created is totally opposed to that of the Faerie. But, as we begin to understand the changes we are undertaking, we begin to see our connectedness to the whole. Each of us is part of a collective existence and, as we progressively download our higher selves into our physical selves, we begin to realise that the lives we have become accustomed to living exclude a vast portion of what is really there, including the Faerie realm in all its magic and wonder.
In so many respects the answer lies in our understanding of the female. Our Earth is female. It is the re-claiming of the feminine in ourselves, and in our lives and relationships, that can bring our current and future existence back into balance. As a man, it is not an easy choice. Our Earth is female and in order to create balance, we have needed a male response. However, the balance has tipped too far and the Faerie, as an aspect of Mother Earth, have become pushed to the extremities.
It is time to regain balance. The Earth is as welcoming as she ever was. The Faerie are as prepared to put up with our prevarication as they ever were. Now is our time…human time. No other race or being has the right to choose what we become. We have reached a point in time where our conscious choice is needed. And, that choice should be…to dance with the Faerie, to stop our rape of the planet and to finish what we originally set out to do, which is to bring our full soul consciousness into our human existence, here on Earth. And, the Faerie (Mother Earth) will be happy to go on nurturing us as we continue on our paths to this destination, if only we let them. We really are that strong and the Faerie are there to remind us that our greatest strength lies in embracing our original innocence. By letting go of everything that covers it, we arrive at a point where no external force can deflect us from our goal. Remember, the Earth has taken on the role of nurturing human life. We need to repay her hard work and become, once again, who we truly are.

Oh, it has been work looking for a film for today’s date. IMDB had plenty to choose from but, I couldn’t seem to get any further information from the others…Wikipedia, American Film Institute, Turner Classic Movies… Even the Silent Era site and Silent Hollywood were slim pickings and, Silentology had nothing.
The discovery that detectives are on their trail causes Doyle, Broden and Etzer, counterfeiters, to pack their paraphernalia into a trunk and express it to Lone Point. Upon its arrival at that station, a corner of the trunk is smashed. Helen thus learns of its contents. The telegrapher immediately wires to Savage, a railroad detective. The latter, accompanied by Duncan, a Secret Service detective, hastens to the scene. At their suggestion, Helen arranges a trap for the counterfeiters. When the latter appear, they are set upon by the officers. Etzer is captured but, his pals get away. Doyle eludes pursuit but, Broden later falls into Savage’s hands. Helen, watching the pursuit, ventures on the high trestle which crosses the dry bed of the Loro River. Doyle, who is hiding, sees Helen. Overpowered by a desire for revenge, the man attacks the telegrapher and makes her a prisoner. A rope lies nearby. Binding Helen, Doyle suspends his victim from the trestle and fastens the end of the line around the rails. Duncan sees this from afar. Although he rushes forward, he knows that the Keene local, due any moment, will cut the rope as it crosses the trestle. Meanwhile, Helen, after a tremendous effort, frees her hands. There is one chance for life. The girl commences swinging her body. Each time, she [manages] a wider arc. The train is crossing the trestle when Helen swings toward a beam. The engine wheels sever the rope. Helen flies through the air and reaches the beam. Doyle is captured. Savage and Duncan raise Helen to the tracks and find her uninjured.

Smooth con man Dudley Jerico sets out to rob corrupt millionaire Victor Rosso [sic] of his legendary Gemini diamond.
A conman hatches a plan to swindle a corrupt millionaire out of his treasured priceless diamond by claiming to have discovered its twin. However, his plot is disrupted by a rival hustler who comes up with the same idea and, the two crooks must each convince their suspicious target that they can be trusted and the other is lying.
Reviews:
This disappointing comedy caper evidently got the green light due to the popularity of Patrick Macnee‘s dapper superspy John Steed in The Avengers. Unfortunately, this attempt to turn Macnee into an equally charismatic jewel thief just can’t compete with its bigger budgeted competition, despite the catchy title track from Lulu and the star’s stunning array of flowery shirts. Herbert Lom is good value as the object of Macnee’s felonious attentions (in a role similar to the one he played in the Michael Caine caper Gambit three years before) but, this lacklustre yarn, ultimately, can’t cut it in the excitement or suspense stakes.
Mister Jerico is one of those charming and fluffy capers that the 1960s did well, quite similar to the higher-budgeted Gambit or How to Steal a Million. The palette is sun-soaked, the plot buoyant and just this side of ridiculous. The second half of the film, in particular, moves along at a nice pace, complicating matters without making anything seem too serious. If you think too deeply about the story, it will all appear very nonsensical but, this is a stylized caper film not intended for deeper scrutiny. It’s a surface film and as such it’s quite enjoyable.
A fun film with a very Avengers feel to it, which should be obvious given the cast and crew. Allen is a little out of place but, Macnee and Lom are great, as is Laurie Johnson‘s score. I’ll even admit, against that, Lulu‘s theme song is catchy. Apparently [it was] intended as a pilot for a Macnee series to follow The Avengers but, instead, [was] released theatrically (though, in the US, it only ended up as a TV movie of the week).
This comes under the heading of “things you don’t see everyday.” I was out on a walk around our old cotton mill complex and stumbled across it. I have no idea how old this thing is but, it appears to have been manufactured in Tennessee. ~Vic

President Tyler hosted a public reception for Stockton in the White House on February 27, 1844. On February 28, [the] USS Princeton departed Alexandria, Virginia, on a demonstration cruise down the Potomac with Tyler, members of his cabinet, former First Lady Dolley Madison, Senator Thomas Hart Benton of Missouri and about 400 guests. Captain Stockton decided to fire the larger of her two long guns, Peacemaker, to impress his guests. Peacemaker was fired three times on the trip downriver and was loaded to fire a salute to George Washington as the ship passed Mount Vernon on the return trip. The guests aboard viewed the first set of firings, [then] retired below decks for lunch and refreshments.

Secretary [of the Navy] [Thomas Walker] Gilmer urged those aboard to view a final shot with the Peacemaker. When Captain Stockton pulled the firing lanyard, the gun burst. Its left side had failed, spraying hot metal across the deck and shrapnel into the crowd. Instantly killed were Gilmer, Secretary of State [Abel P.] Upshur, Captain Beverley Kennon, who was Chief of the Bureau of Construction [Equipment] and Repairs, Virgil Maxcy (a Maryland attorney with decades of experience as a state and federal officeholder), David Gardiner (a New York lawyer and politician) and the President’s valet, a black slave named Armistead. Another 16 to 20 people were injured, including several members of the ship’s crew, Senator Benton and Captain Stockton. The president was below decks and not injured.
The disaster on board the Princeton killed more top U.S. government officials in a single day than any other tragedy in American history.

They really wanted Galileo to shut up. Four hundred, four years, today, the Catholic Church was nearly successful with an injunction. Referred to as the Galileo Affair, it started in 1610 and ended in 1633 with the Roman Inquistion.
In 1610, Galileo published his Sidereus Nuncius (Starry Messenger), describing the surprising observations that he had made with [a] new telescope, among them, the Galilean Moons of Jupiter. With these observations, and additional observations that followed, such as the phases of Venus, he promoted the heliocentric theory of Nicolaus Copernicus published in De revolutionibus orbium coelestium in 1543. Galileo’s discoveries were met with opposition within the Catholic Church and, in 1616, the Inquisition declared heliocentrism to be “formally heretical.” Heliocentric books were banned and Galileo was ordered to abstain from holding, teaching or defending heliocentric ideas.
On February 19, 1616, the Inquisition asked a commission of theologians, known as qualifiers, about the propositions of the heliocentric view of the universe. [It was] confirmed that Galileo had advocated the Copernican doctrines of a stationary Sun, and a mobile Earth, and as a consequence, the Tribunal of the Inquisition would have eventually needed to determine the theological status of those doctrines.
On February 24, the Qualifiers delivered their unanimous report:
“[The] proposition that the Sun is stationary at the centre of the universe is foolish and absurd in philosophy and, formally, heretical since it explicitly contradicts, in many places, the sense of Holy Scripture. [The] proposition that the Earth moves and is not at the centre of the universe receives the same judgement in philosophy and … in regard to theological truth, it is at least erroneous in faith.”
At a meeting of the cardinals of the Inquisition on the following day, Pope Paul V instructed [Cardinal] Bellarmine to deliver this result to Galileo and to order him to abandon the Copernican opinions. [Should] Galileo resist the decree, stronger action would be taken. On February 26, Galileo was called to Bellarmine’s residence and ordered:
“[To] abstain completely from teaching or defending this doctrine and opinion or, from discussing it… to abandon completely… the opinion that the [Sun] stands still at the center of the world and the [Earth] moves and, henceforth, not to hold, teach or defend it in any way whatever, either orally or in writing.”
Galileo accepted the order. He didn’t have much choice as his reputation was at stake. Shortly afterwards, all books regarding the Copernican system were banned and Galileo’s works regarding Copernicanism were banned as well. His sentence prevented him from teaching or speaking of the matter further. He remained silent only for so long.

At long last, everyone is seeing the change that is taking place in the world. Unfortunately, most only see a move to chaos and destruction. This seeming chaos is the bringing to the surface of all that has been hidden. As the impetus for change continues to accelerate, situations which have been long hidden and unknown are coming to light in order that they can be dealt with and cleared. Much of what was accepted or hidden in the past is becoming public knowledge and those responsible are paying the political or legal price for their actions.
What we are seeing is the removal of the old as we usher in the new. If we begin to renovate our houses, we must first demolish all that is worn out and unwanted in order to make way for the fresh and, the new. Nobody is immune from this work of restoration. All past problems, personal as well as global, must be brought to light, and cleared, so that there is the space to propagate and nurture the new. As we approach a new year, the speed of demolition must increase as we are a little behind in our work. Do not despair if your world, or the world at large, looks like it is crashing around your ears. This is only to remove the old and, once demolition is complete, our new futures will begin to unfold in all the glory of the beings of full consciousness we are becoming.
So have courage, always ask questions…and make sure the bottle of ‘Rescue Remedy’ is on hand. Everyone who is undergoing change is asking questions. This is one of the questions my wife Di and I are most asked by our clients or those who attend our talks.
[Q] Are all illnesses governed by our genes (DNA) and, therefore, pre-programmed as the medical profession often insists?
[A] A very emphatic NO. Illness arises from the emotions we express, or do not express, in the situations we encounter in life.

Our experiences in life are guided by our higher elements of consciousness, the ‘Higher Self’ or HS for short. If we do not quite meet the expectations of our HS and stray off our path, the HS communicates this to us by accentuating the accumulation of emotions we have stored away by not expressing ourselves as fully as we should have done. The best guide to which aspects of our lives we have not fully dealt with are the concentrations of consciousness (soul) energy within the body which we have come to know as the ‘chakras’. Understanding the aspects of life that each chakra works with, and the organs associated with each of the seven chakras, is an infallible guide to which area, or areas, of our life we need to pay closer attention to…to bring ourselves back onto our path.
Even doctors and scientists are gradually realising that every cell in the body responds to our expressions of emotion and it is how much emotion contained within a bodily organ that determines how efficiently that organ functions and, consequently, our state of health. It is these emotions, and not our DNA, that lead this process. However, DNA does have a role to play. To build the body in the womb requires about twenty-five percent of the gene sequences in our DNA. Once born, we need about three percent of our DNA to grow and develop. All the rest of our DNA is memory. Seventy-five percent of DNA is memories of past lives and, once we have left the womb, twenty-two of the twenty-five percent used to build the baby’s body changes to storing the experiences gained during our current life.
Also, as we undergo change, our DNA is expanding. Over the past twenty-five years, there has been talk of many children being born with an additional four or five strands of DNA that activate at birth (in addition to the usual two). These are the so-called ‘Indigo’ or ‘Star’ children. The extra DNA represents more memory contained within the body and gives these children their ‘advanced’ capabilities. Our full compliment of DNA will eventually be thirteen strands to the helix. The same is true for adults. The more ‘demolition’ work we do, the more we clear out, the more DNA we build as the HS downloads more of itself into the body. The next few years may well be traumatic and we need to put these future events into perspective…they are symptoms of change. The more we accept and work with these changes, the faster we will catch up with our children.
These things are pretty to look at but, you don’t want to step on one of them, barefooted. I’m always reminded of the Return of the Jedi sand monster Sarlacc. ~Vic
[This was] the finale of the television series about Dr. David Banner, a scientist who transforms into a mighty, larger-than-life creature called the Hulk when he gets angry. Desperately attempting to purge himself of his monster-like alter ego, Banner sneaks into a research laboratory. During the critical experiment to purge him of the Hulk, once and for all, a spy sabotages the laboratory. Banner falls in love with the spy, Jasmin, who performs missions only because her sister is being held hostage by Jasmin’s superiors. Banner and Jasmin attempt to escape from the enemy agents to rebuild their lives together but, the Hulk is never far from them.
The Incredible Hulk Returns and The Trial of the Incredible Hulk actually served as backdoor pilots for possible Thor and Daredevil series that never materialized. The third film, The Death of the Incredible Hulk was originally supposed to be the same sort of experiment, introducing She-Hulk, with Iron Man scheduled for the following film.

[However], when it finally came together, it, instead, served as a swan-song for Bill Bixby and focused on one last attempt at a cure for Banner’s Hulk-itis. Unfortunately, even though it wasn’t intended to really be the end of the Hulk on television (the plan was to have him return from the grave with Banner’s mind in the Hulk body), Bill Bixby’s health went south and he died before a proposed Rebirth of the Incredible Hulk film could get underway.
